JOSHUA TREE TRAVERSE "VIRTUAL" ULTRAS:

JOSHUA TREE "VIRTUAL" 30/60K TRAIL RUN AGENDA & LOGISTICS:

WHEN:  Now thru May 31st, 2025

COURSE: The goal is to run 30 or 60K on the California Riding and Hiking Trail in JTNP - there are mile markers every mile, and please download GPX from our race website to be sure you stay on course. IF you can't make it to the intended course, you may run an alternate virtual route of the same distance and still receive a finisher's medal and swag. 

- RUN START is located at Black Rock Canyon Campground

- HALFWAY  (or start/end of 30K option) is at Juniper Flats trailhead

- RUN FINISH  is at the North Entrance Backcountry trailhead parking area.

SOLO RUNNERS:  It is best to arrange for a Lyft while still in the city of Twentynine Palms which is less than 5 miles from the run finish area, then park at finish area and grab your Lyft to start, and have them stop at Juniper Flats for your water drop there, then take you to the start area at Black Rock Canyon Campground.

GROUP RUNNERS (2 or more people):  One or more car drops water/fuel at the half, all meet at finish area and carpool to start.  If you are 3 or more, you can drop car at finish and half, then carpool to start if you prefer.

RUN START-You choose your desired start time, yay!

AID STATIONS?- This is a virtual run that you can do anytime between now and May 31st, 2025. There are no aid stations. You can plan to stash water at the halfway mark of course at Juniper Flats trailhead or you can plan to do this run with other people, and drop cars at various spots along trail where you think you'll want or need to refuel, that is how self-supported and virtual runs work.

CUT-OFFS: The cut-off time for this virtual run is 24 hours, if this is going to take you longer than one day, than you are backpacking and not trail running. 24 hours is very generous, all the folks who have done this race before it was forced to become a virtual run, have done it under 10 hours

RESULTS/RUN FINISH TIME SUBMISSIONS: Please email me a photo of your TOTAL ELAPSED TIME from your device or app that you use to track this run. Send the email to ultratimdavis1@gmail.com & be sure to include your complete mailing address, so I know where to send your finisher's medal and swag
NOTE: This event had a 10 hour cut-off time, but now has a 24 hour cutoff since it is now a virtual self-suppported race.
